Peter Martin was recently appointed to Associate Professor and Director of Percussion at Virginia Commonwealth University, beginning in the Fall Semester of the 2009/2010 Academic Calender.   He will be relocating to Richmond, VA during the summer.

Peter has served as a percussion instructor at Northwestern University School of Music, the National High School Music Institute, the Zion Conservatory of Music, Illinois Public School District 64, Fremd High School, the Village School of Music, The Raritan Music Center, and has worked with the University of Chicago's CONNECT outreach program and the New Jersey Chapter of the Trinity International UniversityYoung Audiences organization in presenting educational performances to public schools across Illinois and the Northeast U.S.  Additionally, Peter has taught world drumming in the K-8 grade levels in the Chicago Public School system through the Jane Addams Hull House Association and is partnered with the Urban Gateways program of Chicago, presenting educational and outreach performances to young audiences throughout Chicago.
